Please be aware that extensive tree felling will be occurring in Bacon’s Land woods during the month of September 2025.

Due to the abundance of Ash Dieback this work is required to save the woods.

Primarily it will consist of a clear fell of the Ash plantation to the west of the public footpath.

Further selective felling of diseased Ash trees will occur to the east of the public footpath.

This work has been approved by Forestry Commission under Felling Licence ref: 019/1640/2025.

Access to the public footpath will be maintained during this operation but caution is to be advised.

Replanting with native British trees will take place towards the later part of 2026.
