Are you interested in wildlife, being outdoors, working with other people to help improve the biodiversity of one of our green spaces?
Then please come and join our Friends of the Glebe Field group.
We are setting up a group to develop and (subject to Parish Council approval) carry out some projects in the Glebe Field. Our initial ideas include planting a small community orchard, making a small pond for wildlife and developing links with schools and youth groups. We would welcome new members bringing further ideas to explore. All kinds of skills required: physical work, fundraising, developing nature awareness - and endless enthusiasm!
We are hoping to have a meeting of volunteers on the Glebe Field in mid-August. For further details and to sign up, please contact Tony : glebefieldthakeham@outlook.com
FRUIT TREE PLANTING
As mentioned above, we are particularly interested in the idea of planting a small group of apple trees (Sussex varieties), and a successful approach elsewhere has been to seek sponsors for planting of each tree, to welcome a new baby, commemorate an occasion, or remember a special person. To help us gauge the interest in this, if this idea appeals to you, please get in touch with me (Tony: glebefieldthakeham@outlook.com).
