The orchard now comprises 17 trees. The last 5 were planted on 9 March 2024, with most of the sponsors doing the planting.
So we now have a range of trees. The newest was registered in 2019, and the oldest Sussex apple was recorded in 1629.
We have also planted 1 splendid quince tree, so look out for the differing blossoms.
Despite days of rain beforehand, we were lucky to be planting and enjoying refreshments in brilliant sunshine!
The hedging whips planted a couple of years ago are mostly doing well. They do take time to grow, but they are on their way.
Many thanks to all who are involved.
